I gave these a stress test right out of the box...volunteering at the local food pantry for 6 hours straight...all on a cement floor. At the end of my shift, I was amazed at how little fatigue I felt in my feet, legs, or back, compared to my usual state of exhaustion. I've worn nothing else since, and plan to acquire another pair soon!
Comfortable shoes
Strengthens your feet while protecting them from the elements.
Just ordered my second pair. Strengthens your feet while giving you protection from the outside elements.
I tried the Vibram shoes about a decade ago. They took a bit of time to adjust to, but I never got the the point where I wanted to wear them every day. The Strand was very easy to adjust to, and even walking on hard surfaces they were comfortable and durable. I've been wearing them every day I can since winter is coming and I don't think these will be very good in the snow, and are not good in the rain, as the breathable fabric lets water in as well as out. I've experimented with walking on trails, and they work just fine, but they get dirty very quickly. I can see why the high top version is in a color that won't show dirt as well, and I'll buy a pair this spring when hiking starts up again, after the snow melts. I've worn them with an without socks, both work well. Without socks they will pick up stink and moisture but I got a simple shoe dryer, and that problem was solved. With socks they are a bit more comfortable and moisture control is a bit better. Overall I'm very happy with the Strand, and look forward to trying additional models when spring arrives.
It's really good
I believe conventional shoes have damaged the nerves in my feet, so I've been searching for the holy grail of footwear. It took a few days for me to get comfortable with the new sensations around my toes, but I'm starting to wonder if I could ever go back to the "normal" old foot mittens.
Received these recently. Peluva Strand, in Black/White, size US 10 (mens). I wear EU43 on most shoes, including VFF's, which would be about 9.5 in most shoes, but given their website recommendations suggested by StrufFit, I went with the recommended size 10. It was spot on - the shoes fit great (wearing them right now with the thin socks - I will report later on the thicker socks). I had various Lems (Primal Zen, Primal 2, and 9to5), and once I got used to the VFF's, I "had" to sell the Lems as they felt "spongy" soft. I have to admit I was worried about these Peluvas being the same/similar, since they have a rather "thick" 9mm stack, but after wearing them today all afternoon, the insoles in these are not "soft" - not like the Lems. You can totally feel the higher/thick 9mm insole compared to my trusty VFF's (here compared to my V-Alphas) but whatever the material/density is, they feel fairly firm. The upper is very comfy, and the shoe is wide enough for me. So far, so good . I will report more as I put some miles in them.
I love this shoe
First off let me congratulate the customer service at Peluva. I used the digital app to determine size and it was a bit tight. Reached out to customer service and they provided a shipping label to send the old size in and I got the new 1 size up replacement in about 4 days. Secondly, due to the unconventional nature of the shoe I had my doubts regarding comfort and ease of wear. Those doubts have been smashed this is perhaps the most comfortable shoe I own and within two days I'm able to slide my feet in without untying the shoe. As a bonus the synthetic material on the upper is very breathable and super easy to clean with a damp towel. Overall, very pleased with my purchase.
Grandson is 14. High school freshman and he requested these for school and everyday wear. He swears they are comfortable and knows Id teturn them in a heartbeat if not I emphasize to him often how important it is to take cate of your feet (and teeth).
My son wants some but you guys don't have his size his size is a three and a half and he's nine so could you guys please get back to me when you have a size thank you
Great customer service!!
... with decent middle arch support. The sole feels likes there is no drop from the heel to the toe, but I have not measured it. Probably as comfortable as my Altra Lone Peak shoes and more affordable.
At age 68 and a long time wearer of minimalist toe shoes I find these the most comfortable I've ever worn. I train in them every day and unlike the other brands I've worn, these are stylish enough to wear in the office.
Like an ultra with toe spreaders love them. Please send me a discount code so I can order another pair for family. I feel arts of Ly calf working that I’ve never felt before.
This shoe cured my corn issue and my feet feel a lot better.
I bought these just cause I don't like wearing shoes and wanted something closer to the barefoot feel. These are surprisingly easy to slip on. They take a little getting used to but are comfortable if you bought the right size. Just remember to buy toe socks as well. I was not thinking about that when I got them and had to order some socks on Amazon after they arrived.
Exactly what I wanted and have been looking for! As soon as I get accustomed to them, they will become my main running shoe
I like how they fit and feel! I highly recommend them!
very comfy, looking forward to a trail runner version.
Fit great, takes a bit to get used to. However, great shoe once I was used to it.
I've only worn Converse Allstars for the last 30 years. Now I'm only wearing Peluva Strands since last week. I cannot believe how much I love these shoes! At first I thought it was a little goofy having shoes on that look like feet but now its the most natural thing in the world. Thank you so much for making this incredible footwear. I got them to help with the pain in my Big Toe and ankle and it is TRUE that these shoes relieve the pain from having cramped toes from years of traditional shoes. I just bought another pair so I can have one pair for working in and getting a bit dirty and another that stay clean.
