Shoes

The shoes are great. The problem is my feet. My toes are squished up from boots and socks for fifty years and I cant hardly get my little toes in where they need to be. I’ll keep trying but my little toes are short also

Like running in them.

I like the way you can feel your toes grasp the ground as you're running. Very natural feeling. I'm glad if I decided to try them. I've got weird feet and Morton's/Greek toe, but they seem to compensate as they are molding to fit. The big toe area on mine seems to bunch with a little extra cloth maybe because of my longer second toe, but doesn't affect comfort. I'm a size 12.5 and so usually get 13s but I went with 13 on peluva and seems to be the right choice.

Pretty good!

Makes a nice change from regular toe squishing shoes. My feet are different sizes so I ordered up a size, they work well. Takes some practice getting your toes in the right slots but it’s not difficult once you’ve done it a few times. Would like a little more padding in the sole but they’re pretty comfy as is. Would recommend.

First time buyer

This is my first pair of toed shoes. I've had other barefoot shoes before, but not like these. It took me 2 trys to get the sizing correct, but now I think they're amazing. I've been putting on miles in them, the thought of strengthening my feet and legs with every step is just what I was looking for. So much so, I bought 2 more pairs. Can't wait till they get here. The worst part is getting used to all the dandelion heads getting stuck between my toes

Fit and feel

I had to return the first pair. My second toe is longer than the rest and the pinky is really small. The second pair works great but the pinky has issues fitting lol. Wear them to the gym and around the property amd love them.

Overall its an interesting fit

The right foot is still a little tight, but over all it works. I want to feel my feet about 3 months from now.

For when you need more sole

Coming from vibrams, these certainly have a thicker sole and a feeling of a higher heel. With that comes the pleasant sensation of your toes being firmly pushed forward and separated where they should be, which I quite like and feel like its a bit better at that than the vibrams. As a bit of a negative, if you are a religious fivefinger or xero type, then this will feel higher in the heel and my ankles were a bit sore. Fit was right on for my size, and I wouldn't want a size up. The material is a bit hotter and doesn't breathe as well as a kmd evo or prio neo. For reference, with toe socks, I'm a perfect size 46 in fivefingers, 12 in prio neo, 11.5 in prio and 12 in this shoe. Overall, I'm happy to have all three brands, and I don't think anyone should just choose one. These shoes definitely have a place where trad sneakers would be the choice over the thinner fivefingers or prios. I'd purchase them again for sure!

Very Good

I love so much of everything about these! The only thing I didnt like was the little plastic adjuster, becuase all the time I actually lean or sit on the front of my feet, which really hurts with those. I just cut them of and now they're perfect!

4th pair of peluvas

Now that I have my size dialed in, it’s easy for me to buy more Pelova’s. For me, the shoes round about a half size smaller. Than my normal size. Cool look to them. Feel pretty damn good in the gym. Haven’t tried them hiking yet.

I am not yet sure if it was an advantage to going up half a size. On the website it says their shoes run small so to size up. Regular shoes I wear at 10 and a half so I went with 11. My big toe is pretty close to the end while my other toes are around halfway in. But I can tell you this one compared to the one with the lightweight mesh. My toes guide into the slots much more naturally and way quicker.

They do help!

I love them so far. I feel I need to try a size smaller to fit my foot a little more correctly. They do relieve me of constant pain in my feet. I will be using more of these shoes.

Great shoe, but slightly limiting based on my foot shape.

First, I'm generally a fan (early impressions) of this shoe! I have a slightly narrow, tapered foot (size 11), and initially ordered an 11.5 ATR, which turned out to be too large for me. After switching to an 11, I still found that my 3rd toe only went about half way into the toe pocket, and my 4th and 5th toes barely reached. Obviously, Peluva cannot conform to every foot shape. I just happen to fall a bit outside of the "normal range" that the shoe tries to meet. I have found that wearing toe socks provides a much more comfortable/secure feeling fit. Unfortunately, I suffered a serious achilles strain shortly after receiving the shoes (not related to the shoes!), but I look forward to seeing what they (and I) can do once I'm healed.

Good shoes

I experienced minimal discomfort and adapted to them quickly, likely because I am used to toe socks. My primary concern lies with the breathability of shoes. I naturally have sweaty feet, and after two weeks of consistent wear, even with changing socks twice daily, a significant odor developed. Also do not hike in weeds in these, you will catch a lot of stuff with your toes.

Stay Flexy Friends

Putting the shoes on took some getting used to as the toes aren't used to being free. First week was just for that, getting used to the feel. It's hard getting the right size for me because 10.5 kinda hugs my second toe but my right foot slides a bit while running in the 11 and can't just put another pair of socks on with these. Nice going from composite toe boots to the Flexy's. Definitely enjoy the feel while doing field cardio and gym exercises and yes, my feet are cramping less as I wear them more.

Trying to cure my PF.

I have been at whits in with doctors, shoes, insoles, and prescription insoles. The custom ones absolutely made my plantar fasciitis. So this is a last ditch effort to fix my problems. Obviously toes are gonna have to get tougher and stronger. I have been using toe socks for some time to help with corns and toe pain as well as use toe spacers so I’m used to the spreading. But I just started these last week. Unfortunately work won’t approve them so I wear to work and home that’s about it. I did my first convention this weekend to really test them as far standing and walking on carpet. They did great toes are sore after a few hours but overall I have more control and balance I need. Not sure if it’ll help fix or I need time I’m also flat footed and didn’t have as much of the pain I normally do.

Response from Peluva

Robert, we really appreciate you sharing your journey. Plantar fasciitis can be incredibly frustrating, especially after trying so many options. It is encouraging to hear you felt better control, balance, and less of your usual flat foot pain during the convention. Toe soreness early on is very common as those muscles wake up. Gradual build up is key. We hope over time you continue to see progress and relief.

Vibrams to Peluva

Been wearing Vibram 5 fingers for 15 years and wanted something with a little more cushion for walking, but still had the stability control using the toes. So far these Strand ATR's help my walking and I feel I can go further more comfortably. Might be because I am approaching 70 years of age...
