A pretty good shoe

Bottom Line: I like and would recommend this shoe, but probably never at full price + Comfortable + Nice support + Reasonably flexible + Nice presentation/packaging + Looks so great I didn't want to wear it = Long term durability is unknown = Priced somewhat similarly to direct competitors, e.g. Vibram = Special socks needed with this shoe, but socks are optional = The back arch of the shoe can be uncomfortable if you don't wear socks - Fewer sizing options than competitors offering UK sizing - Shoelaces are too long and may need to be trimmed - $140 (minus tax) is still a lot to ask for compared to alternative minimalist shoe options

4 Stars

I love the alignment they give my toes, but being that I've strictly worn barefoot shoes for the last 5 years, the thickness of these was a little off-putting. Definitely was a learning curve using them, but overall, i like them.

I Really Like Them

These are great! I have been following Mark since the beginning for the most part. I remember when I emailed him as I had fallen off the Primal Blueprint eating plan wagon, and he emailed me back! I still have the email too. Anyway, nowadays that is probably rare, but He's helped me a lot. I started wearing the Vibram Five Fingers, and they were cool, and I still have my three pairs, but these Peluva's are INCREDIBLE! I love them and wish I could wear them all the time. Unfortunately I can't because of my long toes, but I CAN workout and walk in them. I do get a a blister on one of my long toes, but that's an issue because of my feet not the Peluva's. I walk many miles in them and I can tell you the feedback that I feel in my feet and legs is insane and great! I don't even want to wear my Nike's anymore. I wish there was a version for us folks in the colder climates. Maybe it's in the works. Now why didn't I give it a perfect five stars? The shoe laces. OMGosh they are so long. Like why. I don't get it and it's annoying. Other than that these are fantastic. If you are on the fence, don't wait, buy them!

Response from Peluva

Thrilled you love them! For the tight spot near the pinky toe, we suggest gently stretching the area. Also, consider using thinner socks to alleviate pressure. We're here to help, so please reach out to our customer support for more tips or if you need further assistance. We appreciate your feedback on the shoe laces too; we'll take that into consideration for future designs.

Individual toes shoe brand

I like the way that the shoes separate each toe, allowing for better grip and stability to the ground surface.

Big Toe slot is short

I like the concept of the shoe. I always wanted a Vibram with a thicker sole. I ordered a men’s 10 because I feared the women’s 11, recommended by the sizing app, would be too small. The men’s 10 turned out to be too short and now I am waiting for the next size up. The shape of the shoe is wide and short, perfect for my Japanese husband, but my feet are long and skinny. Will try to cinch it with the lacing.

Peluva owner

I’ve only had an opportunity to try the trainer on a limited basis. And, I’m looking forward to the warmer months to try a more vigorous workout plan. Till that opportunity arises, I can only say that I’m satisfied with the comfort and fit of the peluva. The purchase and shipping went without any problems.

Overall nice shoe

I’ve had these about 3 weeks now and used them on cardio days days at CrossFit class. I’ll be using these on weight training before long as I like the “flat” platform it provides. It’s a bit dressier and thicker sole than I’ve had on other toe shoes. My classmates think they are strange, but they just don’t get the concept or reason. Ironic they understand the major muscles of the body but don’t realize the importance of the muscles and need to strengthen the feet😉

Comfortable shoe

I think they are comfortable. My big toe does touch the end of the shoe a little when I’m wearing socks. This is a little irritating. I’m hoping the shoe will adapt. I am worried that if I got a bigger size, my little toe would not reach the little toe finger.

Great shoe, just doesn't fit the slant of my toes.

An amazing shoe that feels great on my feet and completely gets rid of the cramped feeling I get when wearing normal shoes. The only complaint I have with it is that side to side mobility of the toes is almost non-existent, confined within each toe box, as opposed to the up and down toe movement which feels like you're not even wearing a shoe. Also it unfortunately doesn't fit all of my toes length, the first three toes are great but it starts to leave too much room on my ring toes and my pinky toe is almost sliding out of its toe box unless I make a point to slide my feet forward or tie them extra tight. Despite this these are easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and got me through long nursing shifts with near no foot discomfort.

I would like to write a review, but....

I have size 17 feet and I'm sad I can't try these out lol. I have flat & huge feet, and have been looking for something that works well for martial arts and running.

Love them!

extremely comfortable. Lightweight. I have not had them that long and so I cannot comment on durability. Only knock is the price. If these shoes last a long time, I will gladly eat my words... and the shoes!

Overall really good

Great shoe for moving around outdoors. They’re super comfy with just enough sole that your feet don’t hurt. They aren’t for wet climates though as I found even light rain would cause my feet to become soaked easily. I would highly recommend.

Very Comfortable!

Very comfortable. To wide for my narrow foot, but able to compensate with lacing. Need to offer narrower widths or larger women sizes. Shoe laces way too long!

Innovative & exciting yet questions remain

As someone constantly working to improve my foot health and repair healthy function after too many years of athletics stuck in narrow, poorly shapes shoes, I'm so delighted that Peluva has arrived on the scene. I caught wind of the intiative when Mark was interviewed on a podcast over a year ago. At the time I was about to try Vibram FiveFingers because I was growing certain that toe spacers were needed to re-align my toes (which suffer from moderate hammer and curling) and yet all the toe spacers I tried either would hurt, fall out, or poorly fit. Whether sleeping with toe spacers or trying to fit them in shoes, they just are never going to be as effective as shoes like peluvas for people that are serious about foot recovery. This makes sense because its movement that heals and mobilizes, slowly and over time. Wearing toe spacers for most of your walking hours is just not practical. So, now to Peluvas: for a first pass at this problem they are exceptional. Toes are flexible enough. Once you learn how to get them on, they are easier to get on that toe socks (I really struggle to have patience with toe socks). Right off my 3rd and 4th metatarsals on my foot with the worse hammer toes started aching. To me this was an awesome sign that the peluvas hold a promise of healing. Pain as a signal of positive change! Here are the things I'm less excited about: - My feet get cold in them, especially toes. This is probably because I live in a house with cold wood floors, its winter in Washington State, and the corrective positions of my toes in the peluvas are aggressive enough (what I want) that the arterial flow is slightly comprised (and will be for some time until my feet re-align). So, this is probably the right outcome, but something folks should be aware of that want to wear these in northern climates in the winter (even inside) and don't have great circulation. What currently works wildly better for me is the Wildling Chestnut with an Oboz O-fit insole, since they are warm and cushioned. I figure once the spring warmth comes I'll be able to wear the peluvas more. - The upper material is fine, seems soft and pliable enough for the job. But it does not feel very high quality, so I worry it will not hold up well with wear over time. Also, the seams around the toes do not lay as flat as I'd hope. I don't feel, in my toes, this being a problem, just wanted to share this from an aesthetic point of view. - Toe length: everyone's toes are different lengths, so peluva as a product has a very hard, borderline impossible, problem of coming up with toe lengths that work for most people. For me it's not quite good enough: my big toe is snatched into the front while all my little toes are barely able to stay in the toes of the shoe when I take a step that bends my toes. To a certain extent this is because my little toes are hammered and my arches are not as strong as they could be. So the discomfort and acwardness of this I hope will help give a neurological stimulus to engage my arch (to take pressure off my big toe against the front of the shoe) and splay my toes (to help them stay in the toes of the shoe). But that dreamy future comes true I find myself wishing that peluva could somehow offer a shoe a little closer to my foot shape in order for me to be a little closer, out of the gates, to something that works. When I've used them for light training I've been able to keep my little toes inserted. But I'd really like to try running in them, and that is when I think the little toes would likely retract and then get mis-aligned in the shoe (effectively jamming them until I could stop and adjust to re-insert the toe).

Great shoe!

I’m very glad I bought these. They’re extremely comfortable, so much so that I no longer want to wear my other workout shoes. Surprisingly they don’t look too bad either. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that the pocket for the right big toe is slightly different from the left. Which makes my right big toe rub uncomfortably sometimes.
