Great Experience
It was easy to purchase and the sizing guide was helpful, if a little cumbersome. The sale section was a little misleading, showing a product and then not having any size or color available, but I am very happy with my experience and purchase.
Response from Peluva
Thanks for the honest feedback, Billy! We’re happy the purchase process and sizing guide worked well for you. We’ll definitely look into making the sale section clearer, appreciate the heads-up!

I like em
At first they are hard to get on. They are comfortable. I feel I may need a half size up as the size recommend fits tight up against my big toe and the one next to it. Other than they are comfortable and I enjoy wearing them. I spend a lot of time bare foot so the idea made sense to me. I seem to notice the tightness more when I am at rest more than when I am moving. I had foot pain near where the heal meets the arch on my left foot. This led me to finding peluvas.
Thanks for sharing your experience, John. It sounds like you’re really tuned into how your body responds, which is awesome. A half size up might give you that perfect fit, especially if you’re feeling a bit snug in the toe box. We’re here if you’d like help with an exchange or finding your next pair!

Different
With my slide sandals they are good to wear around the house. Wearing them with the toe shoes causes irritation on my heel.
Well done. Good looking. Considering they are as expensive as vibram’s “5 finger” shoes, I hoped for that level of craftsmanship. Unfortunately not as well made (no insole / liner AT ALL?!), but offer a sportier look.

I love the concept and research behind the benefits. I am still getting used to how they look on and they are very casual in appearance. One foot feels amazing and the other is a bit uncomfortable in the middle toes as my toes are not flat but bent up in the knuckles. Definitely need a thinker soled shoe for my 30+ min morning walks. Will certainly be ordering another pair.
Appreciate you sharing your experience, it’s great to hear one foot already feels amazing! A bit of adjustment is totally normal, especially with unique toe alignment. For longer walks, you might enjoy the Strand ATR or Apollo models with thicker soles.

Great by themselves
I got these socks by themselves because the shoes are way out of my budget rn and they are incredible. They fit great they're not too tight and I actually like sleeping in them (usually I'd rather sleep without a blanket than try to sleep with socks on) I love wearing them around the house without any shoes. Also they're like the perfect thickness and my feet aren't cold or too warm when I take them off. My only problem with them and the reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is that they're just not super comfortable in regular shoes. In mesh shoes or something like that they're not terrible but in my vans they're not my favorite. Compared to other socks that I've had for a bit though they're really not that bad in regular shoes.
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, George! We’re so glad you’re loving the feel and quality of the socks even for sleeping! Noted on the fit in standard shoes; they really shine when paired with barefoot-style footwear.

Good shoes
Need to be waterproof, but they are amazing in dry conditions!!
Tim, appreciate the feedback! We’re thrilled you’re loving the Apollos in dry conditions and hear you on the waterproof request, it’s on our radar.

New to Peluva, Age 50 with some knee pain
I have just started using my Pelvic uva toe shoes for weight lifting and am enjoying them. They seem to have reduced some knee pain and helped with my little toe issue(pulling under my other toes) . I am still adjusting but over all feel these have made a big difference my ability to build strength in my knees.
It’s a different feeling having your toes spread, but it feels great! My only concern would be longevity, as I hike a lot, and think a protective layer around the toe box might be a nice addition, but I am speculating they may exceed my expectations as they have otherwise. Definitely recommend. I did order a half size up as well and think the automated suggested size might have been too small.
Glad you’re enjoying the natural toe spread, it really does make a difference! Appreciate the thoughtful note on durability too; we’ll keep that in mind as we continue to evolve the design.

Good shoe
I like these to work out in andnto wear at work. They do run a little smaller than the other two different styles I have which are the golf shoes and the white work out shoe.
Thanks for the feedback, Moji! Glad you’re enjoying them overall. And yes, our Strand Sport Mesh does tend to run a bit small, so going up a half or full size is a smart move. Appreciate your support!

Awesome shoe and love the freedom for my toes. Will say that the tongue is pretty hard and so low/unmaleable so that it caused cuts/rubbing on the top of my foot. Ive bought longer socks now and im sure with time and wear it will soften.

In theory, great
Wearing these toe shoes has helped with waking back up my fourth and littlest toes on my right foot, which may have sort of gone offline since a medial knee injury a few years ago where I developed a new holding pattern in my right leg. I will probably wear the shoes more next summer. The weather is becoming a bit cold for them already. These are my first barefoot shoes so I can’t compare them to other barefoot brands. The fit is great (snug) and I think there is real benefit to toe strengthening and dexterity, so I don’t want to do anyone a disservice by reviewing too negatively. I’m just not sure that they’re worth the money when compared against traditional shoes, because I don’t think there’s actually much that you can do in them. There’s not much I can do in mine, at least. I wanted to be able to use them while at work (massage therapy) for better grounding, but the strange thick carpet we have there proved pretty incompatible with these shoes for getting good leverage, so that is a bummer. I’m only reviewing because peluva have emailed me three or four times now asking me to; So, okay then, here’s my experience. I wouldn’t do it again, probably (purchase $140 barefoot shoes) as much as I wish that they could resolve or reverse the physiological ills that modern living and footwear have rendered upon our bodies and our feet. Their potential for feeling beneficial differs dramatically depending on the flooring of the building or place that you’re in. They may continue to be a piece of the puzzle in deterring / slowing decay, but decay’s ravenous appetite will eventually glut itself on us all no matter whether we wiggle our toes daily or not. Hug your loved ones lol
Thanks for the thoughtful and honest review. We really appreciate the insight into your experience, especially how the shoes are helping with toe awareness and recovery. While they might not be the perfect fit for every setting, we’re glad they’re offering at least a piece of the puzzle in your journey.

Love these
Was skeptical about purchasing toe shoes, but these changed my mind. Definitely feel grounded when doing squats , dead lifts lunges and stretching.
Love hearing that! Glad the Strand ATRs won you over, they really shine during those grounding movements. Thanks for giving them a shot!

Excellent so far
While it is slightly big, I feel after a few washes that may change. These feel light, comfortable, yet still protect me from sharp rocks and slippery surfaces. Good grip.
These are super comfortable. I originally ordered the size 15s to the 16s. The first pair were too short with my big toe hitting the end. The 16s are perfect for my big toe but they are a little long on the other toes… My pinky toe is almost not even in the place for it. They are also a little wide even with the drawstrings pulled as tight as possible. Other than that I love them and hope to get a few more pairs. Hope they make an option for a little narrower fit so I don’t have to pull the draw strings so tight. The video below shows how much extra room is in the toe spots except the pinky toe spot.
My fist pair was a men’s size 8.5 (1/2 size larger than recommended) I chose men’s because I read somewhere that the toe box is a little wider than women’s. I’m really glad I did because I like the feeling in the toe box. But the 8.5 didn’t have enough room in the big toe box and they were too snug with socks. So for this pair, I ordered men’s again and chose size 9. They fit excellent!
Here’s what I like about this pair: I like the colour, I like the extra big toe room, and how great they feel with socks on.
Here’s what I don’t like: the laces type and colour. These laces make these quite expensive shoes look cheap.
I’d give them a 5 star if the laces were a black or complementary green and the same type of laces as the first pair that I bought.
Thanks, Yvonne! We’re so happy the size 9 fit worked out and that you’re loving the comfort and color. We appreciate your note on the laces, we’ll share that with our team for future updates.

Great for a purpose
I work out barefoot in my home gym, I bought these for outdoor work out activities. They are perfect for the purpose I bought them for. They allow my feet and toes, to be fully active. They are light, flexible, and protective enough for aggressive outside activity. They are well made.
I deducted one star because 1st off, they are a pita to put on, spin how ever you want, but this is true. It does get easier but not the same as all my other shoes you can slide on in a second. Even though I did buy these to specifically do outdoor workouts, I have not found them to be versatile for other situations. I work on my feet and traverse various surfaces, I have not found them comfortable for me. These are not the shoes I would grab to run errands.
Another note specific to my feet, I found them to be very tight across the top of the foot. I have to wear them with laces loosened to capacity and the sides will buckle a little. They do still fit and feel fine otherwise, and are secure. I ordered 1/2 size larger than I usually wear.
