First time purchase, very happy
I've owned this type of shoe before but first time for Peluva. No break-in required for me but note the suggestion to order slightly larger than your normal size. I was glad I did. I like the more traditional sneaker styling as well.
Thanks, Brian. Glad you prefer these over your Hoka shoes and hope you find socks that match your needs.

Uncomfortable at first but give it time
When I first put them on I thought I had purchased a size too small. Everything I read on the site said they are supposed to fit “like a glove.”
After about three days, they felt good. I don’t know if it’s placebo effect or not, my feet and ankles feel more stable just after a week.
Thank you, David. We are glad the fit improved after a few days of wear and that you feel more stable in them.

As comfortable as advertised
The fit is exactly as I expected from the size of my regular shoes. The comfort is excellent even before an adjustment period. The traction is just right. The 'laces' are both as tight and as flexible as needed to keep the shoes snug at all times.
I use these as my everyday shoes in a walking-heavy city and haven't suffered any of the foot fatigue I used to attribute to walking too much when in reality it was my old shoes causing it (pretty nice ones too, in one of the major brands regaled for their comfort).
Highly recommend for anyone on the fence about minimalist shoes.
Thanks, Clifford. We’re so happy you’re feeling the benefits in your feet and full-body strength. That’s exactly the goal.

Like a glove
The first ones I purchased was to see if I would like them, I bought the Zen and fell in love. These fit like a glove, very comfortable and good for any surface rocky or smooth. Would recommend these and the Zen.
Thank you! Fantastic to hear they’re fitting like a glove and working great on different surfaces.

Great so far!
I had to exchange my first pair to go down one size, and the new pair fits well. These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. The build quality appears to be good. The look of the shoes is cool!
I look forward to hiking in them soon, to really test them out.
Do far, so good. I like them!
Thanks for the love, Joe! We’re so glad the Strand ATRs are delivering all-day comfort, especially for your wide feet. That kind of fit is exactly what we aim for. Keep enjoying them!

If you have a bunion and LONG second toe, read this!
I am amazed! This is the only shoe that I can wear all day long not not have my bunion feel like it is going to explode - check out the ugly picture! The history about my cramped toes and bunion: I ran track through college and jammed my feet into very tight track spikes, then spent 38 years in small toe box dress shoes (I was a CEO), and now play tennis using shoes that don't help the situation.
On top of that, I have the long second toes that make every shoe fit problematic.
On longer! I have had the strand atr for 4 days and have had zero issues. I'm a size 9 and ordered a 9.5 along with the socks (I'm now using toe socks with my tennis shoes). The long toe has a little space and at first I thought it was rubbing against the edge while walking, but that is starting to go away as I wear the shoe. The other toes have a good gap, so ordering a 10 might be too much. Most of what I am feeling is the toe actually doing its job on the surface of the ground, which is something you might have to get used to.
For kicks, I did a few sprinting bursts and felt like I could run 10.1 in the 100 again! I wear them around the house, for walks, and working out.
What are the downsides?
1) Getting used to how to put them on. By day 2, I figured out that if I WIGGLED MY TOES while sliding my foot on, the toes find the slots much easier.
2) Deciding whether to go a half size larger or one size larger regarding the toe fit. There is some contradictory info on the website about fit - one section recommends half a size larger, and the shoe-specific section indicates one size larger. This causes a lot of second-guessing what to order, i.e., at first I wanted to return for size 10, but gave it time and decided to keep the 9.5.
Overall, I wear these things all the time now (except on the tennis court - but if Mark wants to send me a free tennis version, I'll play test them!). My wife thinks they look wierd but is putting up with them in public!
They call me the "Flash" and now, because of the way the shoe looks, I am officially the Tiger Flash!
Thank you, Len! Your feedback is incredibly helpful. We’re thrilled the Strand ATRs are easing your bunion discomfort and working well for your long second toe. We’re taking note of your sizing concerns and your awesome tips for getting them on. Love your “Tiger Flash” nickname, we’re cheering you on!

Great shoes!
These shoes are super comfortable. My feet can spread out nice and easy.
Thanks, Kirk! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the comfort and natural toe spread of your Strand ATRs. That’s exactly what we designed them for, happy training!
I've had a pair of Vibrams for over 7 Years which I love. I decided to try the Peluva's. Very comparative and for me the Peluva's are slightly more comfortable. So far so good!!
I'm considering trying the court shoes and would love input from you all to get your opinion on how they hold up/perform for pickleball.
Thanks for the great feedback, Jeffrey! We’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying your Peluvas compared to your Vibrams. We’ll pass along your interest in the court shoes for pickleball, stay tuned, and we appreciate your support!

Mens Strand ATR Black
Never really done reviews like this before so I'm just going to give straight facts and experience with these. They are an excellent tool once you get use to them and learn how to walk a different way with them. If you go full bore into these and do trail walking on rough terrain like I did, you are going to have some aches and pains from using muscles and tendons more than they are usually used. Have over 30 miles between these and Vibram's with a backpack on rough terrain. These are my go-to now cause at 250 lbs. you want the extra cushion, so you don't bruise your heels or something else. Long in short, after you form to them walking and adjust, I walk better and stronger. My legs are physically stronger from just using them. I had a pop in my knee from cartilage, and it seems to have gone away for the most part. Calves seem stronger and have more motor control over the tendons and muscles in the feet. They do get stronger because you start naturally using what's there for more stabilizing and proprioception. They are an awesome tool and do what they are supposed to do for me. Sometimes wearing normal all terrain sneaker seems foreign, and you can tell it handicaps movement. Sizing for men's 13 for me was slightly snug but then when they wear in a little it's right where you want it. If you wear them in public, yeah you might get some looks and stares but it's because it's just something that's not normal in their eyes and don't see much but to each their own. Who cares. Maybe the way we do things needs to be rethought, and this is one thing Peluva has done. Just my opinion.
Thank you, Clifford, this is an incredible review! We’re glad the shoes are helping with strength, alignment, and comfort, especially on rugged terrain. Your insights on the adjustment period and long-term benefits are invaluable for others considering the transition.
